Pcsphonetones.com was originally launched in late 2003. The first iteration of the site allowed users to choose ringtones and screensavers to send to their phones from categories. In late 2005, Pcsphonetones.com merged with its sister site, Mypcsfiles.com (a subscription ringtone upload service) to allow users to upload and download their own ringtones and screensavers for free. In 2007, functionality was added that allowed users to share uploaded content with their friends.
By 2009, Pcsphonetones.com had over 100,000 members who had downloaded over 1 million free ringtones and screensavers.
