Ocular Box designed the original Universal Yarn website in winter 2005 to fill an immediate need for an online presence before an upcoming trade show the company was attending. From those simple beginnings, over time, we crafted a fully customized content management system for administrating yarns, colors, patterns and brands.
In late 2008, Ocular Box was asked to redesign the Universal Yarn site. Through the last quarter of 2008 we combined the extensive industry knowledge of the Universal Yarn staff with our heightened awareness of how yarn data relates.
Version 2.0 of Universal Yarn included:
Full Shopatron retailer order fulfillment integration
Fully dynamic content administrated through a fully-customized content management system
Custom data relationships for brands, yarns, colors, fibers, needles, hooks, patterns, books, etc.
Date tracking for new yarns, colors and patterns

Captcha-enabled newsletter and special offers signup
Ocular Box Studios released the newest version of Universal Yarn in January 2009.
